The Buy 1 Give 1 program is an opportunity for those who want the ease of buying for themselves and giving to someone else in one click. For every card set, training, or practice session purchased, the buyer pays an equal amount to give an equal number of card sets, training, or practice sessions to a person or group on our waitlist.

Because everyone has feelings and needs, and not everyone can afford self-help tools like Listening Game Cards, training, and practice sessions.
Renowned psychologist Dan Siegel coined the phrase, “Name it to tame it.” Through many sources we know that sharing stories is beneficial to our well-being, and that feeling truly heard is a universal human need. Modern science too confirms through FMRI scans that properly naming feelings calms our brains. Listening Game Cards is all about identifying and properly naming our feelings and needs.
One of the best ways to share a story and truly be heard in a supportive, non-judgmental way is to share and work with a trusted family member, friend, therapist, social worker, or counselor. Yet, many of us don’t have access to those resources. And sometimes, we want to do some self-work before sharing with dear ones.
Because of the barriers to access for support, Listening Game Cards is working hard to offer tools that can be used independently, or to supplement professional service provider reationships
Every human alive before COVID has lived through, and likely continues to work through, the sometimes traumatic experiences of shutdowns, isolation, uncertainty, illness, relationship challenges, adjusting to post-COVID life, and more. Sharing those stories, or making time to indulge self-reflection about these and other challenges, can help.

How Buy 1 Give 1 Works
For every individual or organization that purchases card sets, training, or practice sessions at the Buy 1 Give 1 price, Listening Game Cards will distribute an equal number of sets or sessions to individuals and organizations on the Buy 1 Give 1 waitlist.
Students, teachers, librarians, waitpersons, low-wage tip-centric professionals including personal care specialists (hair/nails/massage), fixed-income seniors or disabled persons reliant on public assistance, retail clerks, fast-food workers, and so many other service people, including part-time workers juggling multiple jobs, independent contractors without benefits, interns and other workers that keep our world going are eligible to apply for the waitlist. Small to mid-sized non-profit organizations and first responder agencies can apply for up to 10 sets of free cards!
Prospective recipients complete an application. We ask that they tell us a brief story about their financial need and how they will use the cards. We do not ask for specific financial or sensitive, personally identifiable information beyond what is required for shipping. Buy 1 Give 1 is a first-come, first-served waitlist.
We may compile and share anonymized stories to help us share Buy 1 Give 1 results and to encourage participation. We ask participants permission to do this.

Buy 1 Give 1 and Pay it Forward Purchasers.
When you purchase a product through Buy 1 Give 1, you not only receive the products and services you order for yourself, but you also contribute an equal amount of products or services to those on the waitlist. Pay if Forward purchasers exclusively contribute to customers on the waitlist without also making a personal purchase. For confidentiality and logistical reasons, Buy 1 Give 1 and Pay it Forward purchasers cannot designate who receives the waitlist items. If purchasers wish to directly support specific people or groups, they can purchase card sets and have them delivered directly to any address in the U.S.
Small to mid-sized Non-profit and first responder organizations can apply for up to 10 sets of Listening Game Cards. Private training and practice sessions are available to these organizations on a sliding scale. Contact us to let us know you’d like to talk about scheduling and pricing.
When you place a Buy 1 Give 1 or Pay it Forward order, one or more waitlisted individuals or groups are served!
Get on the List!
Buy 1 Give 1 and Pay it Forward are first-come, first-served programs. Simply complete the application by clicking on the link below. Once submitted, you will receive an automated notice that your application has been received.
When completing the form, DO NOT SHARE your social security number or other sensitive personally identifiable information such as your driver’s license, passport, or state ID. Similarly, DO NOT SHARE specific medical or other sensitive information.
Anticipate a status update within a month (30 days).
Submissions will be reviewed at least once a month for acceptance. You will receive an email confirming the status of your application. Didn’t receive an email? Please Contact Us – we’ll try again.
Cards will be shipped to waitlist applicants as soon as inventory becomes available. The timing of your shipment depends on Buy 1 Give 1 or Pay it Forward sales. When one set is sold at the Buy 1 Give 1 price, one set will be shipped to the purchaser’s designated address, and another set will be shipped to waiting list participants on a first-come first-served basis. Pay it Forward sales go directly to waitlist customers.
